Drama & Musical Theatre
Drama & Musical Theatre gives students the opportunity to explore drama concepts, create stories, learn musical theatre style songs and dances, create characters, develop confidence with public speaking, social skills and co-operation all the while having fun! Students develop acting skills through improvisation, vocal technique, script work, song and dance.
Classes are for:
- Prep – Grade 1
- Grade 2 – Grade 4
- Grade 5 – Grade 7
- Grade 8+
Saturday Workshops for Drama & Musical Theatre
Drama & Musical Theatre Workshops are ideal for families unable to commit to a weekly class or for those wishing to extend their drama experience. These workshops allow time for extensive content, encouraging focused concentration and retention. Sessions are interconnected, so students are expected to attend all sessions during the term.
NEW Junior Workshop in 2019
Junior – Prep – Grade 2 (2 hours weekly)
Lower Workshop – Year 2 – 4
Upper Workshop – Year 5-7
Intermediate Workshop – Year 8+
Advanced Workshop – by invitation only
These workshops run 3 sessions per term for 2.5 hours
Final workshop groupings will be guided by Dee based on group dynamics & varying interests of the students.
Private, or semi-private lessons are for students who wish to extend their skills and understanding of drama and musical theatre. Students work on monologues, songs or scene studies, audition preparation and concert work. Open to those wanting to improve their acting, singing performance or public speaking skills. Dee works closely with students to hone their individual talents.
