Pilates instructor Toula runs Alpha Omega Rehabilitation & Personal Training and teaches pilates matwork sessions at BDC Dance.
Pilates matwork is a core strengthening and stabilising method which requires minimal space and equipment. Although the exercises may appear quite simple or plain at first, they are coordinated with breathing which maximises the efficiency and increases the skill involved.

As we age there is a general loss of lean muscle mass which impacts on the ratio of stored body fat to lean muscle tissue which is a determinant of our body shape, size, tone and overall physical appearance, not to mention having profound effects on our health and degree of fitness.
