Amy started as a student at BDC Dance Studios from the age of 4, and over her years has taken classes in jazz, contemporary, hip hop, ballet, tap and VCE Dance Units 1/2. She began her teacher training in 2018 and thrived on the opportunity to give back to our community. Beyond BDC, she has also been involved in various roles in musical theatre productions, including assistant choreographer. We welcomed Amy to our permanent teaching faculty in 2019.

In studying physiotherapy and being fascinated by the ability of the human body to learn and adapt, Amy hopes to integrate the promotion of safe and strengthening practices from her degree with dance.

Finding opportunities for continuous learning and improvement is what drives Amy’s love for dance, and is what she seeks to facilitate for students. She aims to create an encouraging and challenging environment to develop confidence and dance abilities, alongside personal growth. She believes that each student’s worth should be reflected and affirmed in the way they are valued by all those around them and hopes that her classes are a space marked by a love for dance and love for others.
