Emily Bourke
Emily embarked on her journey at BDC at the age of 8, setting the stage for her evolution into the passionate dancer she is today. She undertook jazz, hip hop, ballet, and contemporary classes while also participating in BDC’s competition team.
Emily received the Most Outstanding Award in 2023 after completing 2 years of full-time training in contemporary dance at Transit. She has a Diploma in Professional Dance and Elite Performance, and Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management, and is completing her third professional graduate year at Transit.
Emily’s personal experience of the nurturing community at BDC has fueled her excitement to impart her knowledge and enthusiasm to the upcoming generations of students.
Emily finds teaching to be a special opportunity to nurture children through the arts and support students in their own journeys of self expression and creativity. Emily strives to create an open, explorative, active, and enjoyable space for students to build confidence, accomplish goals, and feel safe to be themselves.
